About Us
Our Beliefs
As school counsellors we work collaboratively with students, parents, teachers, and administrators to positively impact the lives of students in a nurturing environment by respecting their differences, facilitating learning, encouraging growth, and discovering ways to give each child a bright, successful future. Our approach is child-centered, developmental, and preventative. We encourage academic, social/emotional, and career awareness at each stage of our student’s development.
How We Help
Academic
The counselling department can help students plan for success by discussing course planning and scheduling.
Social Emotional
The counselling team focuses on the social-emotional care for the students at Pitt Meadows Secondary School. This often involves short-term support and then facilitating a transition to a community counselling program.
Community Agency
It takes a village to support a child, thus Pitt Meadows Secondary will often bring in or refer out to community partners. These community partners will work collaboratively with the guardians and school to the benefit of the child.
