Simon Edwards

Simon Edwards has vast experience working with youth who have struggled in the educational system and experienced difficulties with mental wellness.
As both a school counsellor and a registered clinical counsellor his primary focus is working with teenagers although he has had experience counselling children aged 5 – 20. His previous experience before joining the Pitt Meadows-Maple Ridge School District was working as a counsellor in the Coquitlam School District.
It is Simon’s priority to remain sensitive to student diversity and autonomy. Simon operates through a client-centered – trauma-informed lens, using Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and mindfulness-based relaxing therapy that focuses on breathwork.

Simon is originally from South Surrey but partially grew up in Blackpool, UK. He has a passion for football (Soccer) and loves to travel as much as possible to new destinations. He loves to explore all things local and craft, often find new and unique businesses to try. When not at work he can often be found on local trails with his family (wife, daughter, and dog) usually with a coffee in hand.
